Since this is the tubing version of this post ( i live in utah so utah gets its own post) ill explain how today came to be. i started the day out at deer creek. launched my tube from the boat launch fished the dock until i was in deep water. picked up one 12 inch smallie. made it to deep water around 30 feet, and i started to drag worm on a harness for walleye. as my look usually is, the glasy day i launched in turned into a gale force hurricane. i got blown from the island all the way to the area by the charlseton bridge is. i finnaly get to shore, get my stuff out of the water and start walking the 2 mile treck back to my jeep. feeling a little discouraged at the wind i thought i would drive over to my honey holl jordenelle. soon as i get there i see its a good idea. i see tubedudes car first thing. get out in the water as quick as possible and score one dinker of a perch on my way to the brush pile. make it out there and there is a mini tube war being wages ont e fish. this place had so many tubers and tooner (sorry if i crowded anyone trying to get across to the rocks). talk to tubedude for a bit, then we head our way, he heads towards the open water, i head towards the rocky cliffs on the other side. manage my first fish of size a 16 inch smallie. fished the cliffs with several hits and several "precision releasing". then i headed back to the brush pile. i tied on a small white bait bug, and a blue jig threw out and hooked into my biggest fish of the day a 20+ inch rainbow.(my measurer on the tube only gets to 20) fished until dark. managed to nail the 1 perch, 6 bass, 5 trout and a personal first for me 7 whitefish. add another species to the caught by fishboy wall. yay for me. well that was my day. the browns really tear it up in the twilight hours, 3 of my trout were caught on a wolly on my way in.
ah, one last note. i noticed around 6 oclock the smaller perch began to boil out by the brush pile. i threw to them but all i would get were small perch on the line. has anyone else witnessed these boils at jordelelle

hey fishboy I seriously doubt you caught a whitefish there. Although they are present in the Provo River, and thus probably in Jordanelle too, they are almost never caught from the reservoir.

However, I happen to know that Utah Chubs are quite commonly caught at the Rock Cliff arm of Jordanelle, especially over towards the cliffs side in the river current. I actually caught one there myself a couple years ago on a flyrod with an olive wooly bugger.

Whitefish have extremely tiny mouths.

I bet what you caught looks like this:

[cool][#0000ff]Hey, I recognize that picture...and the roadrunner lure in its kisser.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You are probably right about the chubs. Lots of them in Lake X. However, there are whitefish in the lake and it is not unlikely that they are caught around the mouth of the river. Still, probably chubs for FB2.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Those little perch and some small trout too get surface frisky on the hatches of tiny white flies that come off from time to time. We saw several big rafts of those little flies in the last couple of days.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Glad you got some decent fish after coming over to the 'Nelle. We fished mostly for perch, but on my next trips I will be armed with flies and spinners for the troutskis. Love the hard fighting bows and brownies in that pond.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I'll be posting up a copy of my report from the Utah board here for the tubers too.[/#0000ff]
