Just wondering what people's experience is with fishing Strawberry (or any stillwater) the day of or after a full moon. For example, next Saturday is the full moon, so should that affect fishing during the day?

Just curious to see what others have found. Thanks!

I have had some great days at Strawberry during a full moon, and other times I have struggled. It seems like on the days that I have struggled that often the fishing has picked up in the afternoon.

I have found no definate correlation between the two this time of year. If fishing sucks we can always blame it on the moon phase I guess. It's all good all the time right now though. In the summer it does seem to be slower after a full moon, possibly because the fish can see to feed on bugs on top all night long?

I usually find that during full moon the afternoon bite is better and the morning bite starts later. During no moon the morning bite is better and starts earlier.

My 2 cents about the moon and the Berry. During the full moon it has been my experence that the earlier you start the better you will do. Fishing shuts down or becomes sporadic during the day and picks back up again in late afternoon, early evening.

This time of the year doesn't seem to make a whole lot of diffeence. They have the feed bag on right now. Cruiseing and eating, fattening up for the cold winter months ahead. If you plan on using bait try minnows (chubs or redsided) weightless. Drift or slow retrive has worked best for me. Slow retrive may require some weight, I would recomend using a casting bubble. Lures just try what you have, Rapalas, Pointers have been working, but then so have American Anglers from Walley World. Choose your lures according to the food supply and you will do just fine. Good luck and good fishing.
