We hunted all 3 days since Saturday. We rocked them on opening day.

[inline "opening day.jpg"]

We went out Sunday and I didn't fire a shot.
We went back out this afternoon after some repairs to the boat (it's an airplane and a boat, so you know what I mean) and did O.K.
No pictures from today since there was a minor airboat incident and I might have gotten a little wet along with the camera. The camera is waterproof and still works but the lens was full of salt......as was the rest of me. Since I had nothing to wipe off me or the camera, we have no pictures. I think I will need a new cell phone too.
Anyway, it was a fun 3 days and I can't wait until Saturday....or earlier if I decide to take a little time off this week.

The good news is, I will never need saline solution in my nasal cavity as long as I live. I think I got a lifetime dose today.
[cool][#0000ff]There's gotta be a good story there somewhere. Would it make "Funniest Videos"?[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Hope the electronics survive. You just gonna have to use a dog to retrieve those birds next time. [/#0000ff]

After a possibly simular event I now carry my cell in a zip-loc baggie, a good one. My particular situation could have turned to an emergency and while I rode all the way back from the crystal on my bike, knocking the ice off of me as it froze I wished my cell was working.
Now the baggie, same for the camera.

If you must know....Dan, Steven and I took the boat off the 12th street ramp, west channel. None of us have ever gone out that way before. We were flying down the channel with Dan at the controls when, we notice the channel takes a hard turn north. Since the airboat doesn't turn very well under low power, Dan nails the throttle to get us around the turn. Instead of turning we just increased speed and started sliding sideways. We hit a patch of dry land sideways at about 25mph. That's when the boat flipped on it's edge at about a 30 degree angle, propelling me out into the great beyond. I hit the water/mud mixture face first, planting me like a cornstalk into the swamp. Once Daw was sure I was alive he started laughing his butt off. We got the boat unstuck, continued down the channel and hunted the rest of the afternoon. One thing though, all my cigs got wet in the incident, so I had to smoke Dan's cigars the rest of the afternoon. From now on, my cell, cigs and lighter will go in ziplocks.
