I just can't bring myself to put the boat away just yet, still hoping for a change for the better at Yuba. Haven't been out fishing lately, but have had a real successful fall hunt. Now it is time to make lots of jerky and salami. Will try to make a Yuba trip shortly, if any of you are there and see a Crestliner give a hollar and I'll share some good ole wild meat snacks.
I feel the same way. I haven't been able to get out in the boat much lately but haven't wanted to winterize it yet. Maybe it is a good thing. Last week my son Nathan, who is the Commander of the Box Elder Sheriff's search and rescue possee, called me up at 9 pm on a sunday night. They had a duck hunter stranded out on the Salt Creek refuge west of Tremonton who couldn't find his way off in the dark. I hooked up the boat and drove to Little Mountain and put the boat into the water. Nathan and another Search and Rescue guy took the boat and made their way out along the dike and then across the marsh to where the hunters could see their lights and come to them in their duck boat. He used his GPS to make sure they could all find the way back out in the dark. Acey
