Well after soldering all the connections and wire joints (the squeeze connectors are not reliable!) I found that out on the first attempt. I can show you these pics attached below and try to explain them.
The first is where the wires came out of the shaft. They were all color coded (white, yellow, red, black). On the back of the reostat where each color pluged in it was printed by each connetion. This made it very easy to match up the right wires, especially if you use colored wire. Otherwise just mark the wire as you connect with the wire coming from the motor. The duck tape is to seal off the tube from any moisture getting inside the shaft.
The next pic is the reostat with the battery conection wires with aligator clips laying there also. The connecting points for those wires are clearly marked on the reostat as well for neg and positive (if reversed the motor will turn the wrong way). The duck tape is again to try to keep things moisture free.
I believe it will be much better when the reostat is in a box and has a mounting spot on the toon so it can be opperated easily with one hand. Water tight would be nice, too!
The next 2 pics are the motor mount I made and how it is attached to the toon frame since this frame did not have the motor attachment, only the anchor. I haven't cut the lag bolts off yet.
