[font "Comic Sans MS"][size 2][#002850]ScottieB, Bait_Caster, and myself fished Bear Lake today. Launched around 6:30 and was catchig a few fish around 7:00.
Met Petty4Life, Rileyfish, and Fish1on out on the rock pile in Rileyfish's boat.
We had several mechanical problems with the boat today but with the help of Lee (Lee's Marine) and the gang in Rileyfish's boat, we managed to limp along.
I only caught one small cut. But Bait caster picked a small mack and a decent cut.
We spent a while over on the east side but didn't mark hardly anythig so we went back to the rock pile. While we were up on the east side, we seen BearLakeMack come out of the far north and zip to the far south. Wonder how he did today.
Having not caught any fish yet, Scottieb was feeling kind of left out. So, he decided to break out the "Easy Cheese", fill his tube, lick his fingers, then picked up two very nice cuts and a suckite ... bam ... bam .... bam. Then the bite went quiet. One of his cuts went 4 1/2 lbs.
We left with fish for dinner around 3:30. Sure was a nice day on the pond.

It was a cold one this morning in the canyon, I registered nine below in my suburban at Peter sinks on the way up. It sure did turn out to be a nice day though. Oh well, Maybe next time it will be our turn.

Way to go Ralph and crew, sounds like a fun day on the pond. The last time I had my boat up there I had a hard time getting it to start, thank goodness for electric start. I figured I had some water in the fuel and the cold rode over just made it worse. Was this the same problem you were having?

We had some slow times but we always had fish coming in. Guess we were just lucky. The north end of Cisco Beach proved pretty good early in the morning.[/size][/black][/font]

Granted, it's not on par with Strawberry numbers but BL cutts are so much more beefy. Though the mack fishing has been tough, the cutts are making it all worthwhile.[/size][/black][/font]

Hey coot sounds like you guys had a good time. I couldn't make it out Friday but me and mtnman went out wednesday. We caught 11 cuts and 1 mack. BLM is right the cuts have been pretty good this year the largest was 6 lbs. We caught 8 on the east side the rest and the 6LB mack on the west.

As for petty's santa suit, well, at least he was warm all day. Pretty nice fishing clothes if you ask me. I still wear my old AirForce gortex and its not all that warm.
Yes indeed I tried to pawn off jason to another boat but no one wanted him! I get a kick out of him razzing me all day, sure breaks up the slow fishing time. Poor Mark didn't have a chance to get a slam in with the two old bags verbally battling each other.
Hey Terry, you left you step stool in the parking lot!!!! lmao! DUDE, WHEN DID YOU GET THAT AWESOME TRUCK OF YOURS? You got yourself a pretty nice ride there and it sure sounds sweet to boot. Now all you need is a sweet boat to complete the package.
I fished the breakwater after my friends left and managed to land one whitefish. GOOD EATS for me but not enough to share with my family. Bummer for them!
The toon thing is way cool but it is most definetly someting to practice. I had a tough time managing gear and trying to stay on fish. I think I will set anchor and cast spoons next time.
