My wife bought a shadow box for me to put my flies in.
I will try to get a picture of it when it is done.
Thanks to everyone that joined in the fun with the swap.
We will have to do it again in the spring and target flies for the streams.

I can't wait. I am excited to get others flies and responses from mine.

[Wink]...atta boy, girl! And many thanks for making an idea fraught with loose ends come together in a nice package.

Now I'll have to get a new fly box for these new little buggers!

[black]I wanted to include a [#ff0000]FURLED LEADER[/#ff0000] with them, but the Vernal, then Vegas deal kinda messed me up on time, so anyone of you fly tiers that wants to try a furled leader give me a pm with address again and I will shoot one out.[/black]

Oh crap! I just looked at my flies on the website and they SUCK. I must really be under stress or drunk--something! All those who get these pieces of crap and send me a PM and I'll tie another that is more acceptable. Sheesh, that is embarrasing. And if anyone does try them and they catch fish, then be assured the fish gods are having mercy on you and me. Thanks Goddess for all your efforts. The other flies look great and I can't wait to try them out.

I just posted those pictures and I for one think your flies look great. What does everyone else think?

On a lighter side, I have updated the pages to include Katghoti's flies and bioman and lunkerhunters bios...

If you see any mistakes you want to have corrected please send me an email or a pm and I will correct as soon as I can...

[#0080ff]I agree totally with MacFly, they look great. You gotta remember I have enlarged those things [#ff0000]ALOT![/#ff0000] These are some tiny flies.[/#0080ff]
[#0080ff]With a little luck, everyone will get theirs by this weekend and maybe get out to try them. I know I am going to try. Maybe Katghoti can tell me where on the Weber or Ogden for a change of pace[Wink][/#0080ff]

Id say that seals it then,.... an expert in her field and a novice in that same field agree.. so that means the flies are great... [Smile]

All the pics I looked at are great! This has truly been a fun experience for me. The anticipation and exictement is half the fun, I can't wait to get the real things in the mail. Thanks FG and MC55 for all that you've done for this swap.

Thank you all for the kind words. It has all been a pleasure for me. As I said before, I do not tye flies yet, so in the spirit of the fly swap I offered my services this way so that everyone could see what each one did. I do thank FG for all of her hard work coordinating everything and then taking all of the pictures and supplying me with the pictures and recipes. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who took the time to send me bio information for their page. We (FG and I) felt it would be a good way to not only admire the work of a fellow fly tyer but also get to know that person. I hope that all of our hopes were accomplished.....

Okay, okay, I still think I could do better. Now I will reveal my secret locations for the Ogden. I sent FlyGoddess a PM with details, but didn't hear back. Head to the 12th street exit off I-15 in Ogden and head east to the canyon. Right at the mouth of the canyon turn right, then right again to the Dinosour park. Drive to the end of the road and park at the park. Fish along this stretch focus on the runs and riffles and stay away from the deep water the browns are shallow. This is tight fishing so rollcast and flip alot. Also if you stop at the first pull out right by the bridge and fish up to the mouth of the canyon you will do well. I have had luck on the following:

Spring: Don't try. High water, lots of boulders. Not Good.
Summer: Large prince (size 12), X-caddis (really good on the S. Fork of the Ogden when they are rising, Ogden Special (Red and Gold serendipity I can give you the recipe if you want), PT, hares ear, copper john (all size 18 and smaller), Parachute Adams sizes 16-18, zebra midge
Fall: Small peach glo-bug, small nymphs (Size 18 and smaller) used for summer
Winter: Midge emerger, size 20 adams (when a rise is on), size 20 PT and copper john and hare's ear, Crystal midge I tied for the swap, zebra midge (I tied for the swap), MESS (I tied two for Fly Goddess since I ran out of time). In the winter fish the deeper holes deep and slow.

I am chomping at the bit for the flies.

katghoti,i must be looking at a different pics.i think your flies look great.i will be proud to fish with them, along with everyone elses flies. everone has done a fantastic job,and the web site is wonderful

There is nothing like blowing up a size 24 to 400% to see all the minute imperfections in a fly. My nikon does a beautiful job of it.

Thank goodness the fish are not art critics and that their eyes can't balloon a fly to 4 times its actual size. If they could they would never take a fly.

My name is Scruffy Fly and besides myself being a little scruffy around the edges I swear the more hacked up and scruffed up a fly is the better the fish seem to like it. .....

I just have a hard time tying something that looks that way and being pleased with it.

[cool][green]Hey there katghoti the next time I stay over in Ogden on my way to WY I just might give you a jingle. If not to fish but at least to buy you a drink. Have been staying at the Comfort Suites at 12th West the past few years.[/green]
