I had a great day at the lake today. 5 different species. I didn't get a picture of the tiny mudcat. All fish were caught on the same 1.5 in tube jigs, even the 7lb channel.

Where did you have the success at?

Utah Lake. There isn't much open water and I didn't dare try the ice at Lindon. I'm sure glad I didn't.

Very nice! The blue gill picture looks like you're away from the shore a bit, were you in a boat?

I'm a die hard tuber, as of about two months ago. Man I love that thing.

that water's nice, but I've had days when the wader boot laces would freeze up.........had to undo them with pliers at the car.
Nice Fish! Glad the crappie are bighting again for you. Looks like a fish fry when you get back to work [Wink]. Enjoy.

[cool][#0000ff]A die-hard tuber. I like that. I know someone else who might qualify for that designation.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have had some great winter trips on Utah Lake in the cold months.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Not surprised about the catfish. I have caught them every month of the year...even through the ice. Most folks don't believe that. The common belief is that you catch them only during the summer...at night...and only on bait. If you caught one on lures in the daytime in the winter I guess you just blew that silly notion "out of the water".[/#0000ff]

Very nice report! Nice to see you scored a few crappie. Haven't seen many crappie reports come out of Northern Utah as a whole the last couple of years. Hopefully the water keeps comin', so we can get a good population back. [Smile]

Utah Lake is very underrated as far as crappie go. I predict a new catch and release state record this year. You heard it here first.

Looks like north end of the lake. I think I recognize the spot you were at. Good job. Haven't seen many crappie come out of Utah Lake for quite a few years. They only seem to do well with higher water years. The drought takes a toll on them when there is less cover.

[cool]Nice job, 2fishon!! What an awesome day at the best "warm water" fishery in the state. I can tell by one of the pictures and by the species caught that you were in probably one of two places. Way to go on the five species, dude!

What color of tubes worked best for you yesterday?

anything chartreuse.
