[font "Times New Roman"][size 3]I fished Deep Creek today for a little less than 4 hours. I caught fish close to the bottom in 4 feet of water to 25 feet of water as well as suspended. I used similar things that I did at Devil Creek last week and found the fish willing to take just about anything I put down the hole. Fishing was good but not as fast as it was at Devil Creek Last week. The only fish I caught were this years planters. No carry over fish or wild fish that I could identify.[/size][/font]

[font "Times New Roman"][size 3]I measured the ice in my holes at only 3”-3.5” but it was clear solid ice. Part of the reservoir that was frozen over last week is now open water. Most of the open water was on the SE end of the reservoir. It was still 80%+ ice covered. It rained and sleeted most of the time. Be careful if you ice fish any of the reservoirs around Malad or Preston the next few days. The ice will be questionable at best. [/size][/font]

Thanks for the report Brian. Deep Creek is a place I am debating on this weekend. I know we have two warm days to get through, but after that we will have another cold spell that will help those questionable ice conditions.

If you are careful and have nerves of steel I think you will be able to ice fish Deep Creek Saturday. Yesterday there was about 1" of rain/melted snow on top of the ice 3" of ice I was standing on. I was fishing it NE of the dam. Last week that area of the reservoir looked like the ice was the thickest. Yesterday it was hard to tell what part of the reservoir had the thickest ice but I don't think it has changed much. Yesterday the South shore and East end of the reservoir had some open spots and the ice was 2" or less in that area last week. With the weather forecast I don't see conditions improving and possibly becoming worse so be careful.
I value my life and normally get board fishing the same place day after day so I think I will go fishing somewhere else tomorrow.
