Hit Mud Creek today with my son. Ice was 4-6 inches and extended about 80% of the way to the main body of water. Drove over to Soldier Creek side first and there is still fishable ice in that first bay but after looking at it and discussing it we decided to go to mud creek. The ladders has no ice at all and chicken creek looks like it has lost a little ice. The fishing was fair, we iced 23 but it took us all day. Not many on the finder. We used white flecked tubes, paddle bugs and maniac cutters tipped with various things. Caught a few on all of them. One 22 inch cutt, 4 13-15 inch bows and the rest slott cutts. Had a lot of fish coming through at 5:00 and they were still coming around when we left.Only 2 other groups today and they called it quits by noon. It snowed lightly all day and the wind was pretty stiff at times.

How much snow is on top of the ice? How is the road? Thinking of hitting in on Friday. Thanks for the report- sounds like it's died up there. [Sad]

I will be going up with my dad and father-in-law. They are anxious to hit some hard water. I've already made 2 trips to the mud this year. I will look for you. I was thinking of taking the sled, but I think I will wait with this warming spell.

Ice was 6"+ everywhere we have been on the ice.

There were 1-2 inches of snow on the ice. A little slush later in the day but not much. Roads off of hwy 40 are snowpacked for the most part but in good shape. A little bit of drifting on the road into the bay.

Thanks for all of the info! Just curious, what was the air temp like. I never trust those weather stations lows up there. Just last week it was 6 degrees, yet the NWS stations reported it never dropped below 30!

Just hoping it doesn't get too warm up there today and start raining or something![pirate]

Don't know for sure, but our ice holes were barely skimming over till about 10 and then didn't start again till 5. It was snowing most of the day a little so it had to be around 32, and I'm sure dropped in the night. It was raining on the way home at the top off Daniels canyon but snowing at mud creek.
