[cool]Don't know about the current conditions, but I've had a MAJOR change of "plans" (we'll call it), so it looks like I'll be doing a lot of ice fishing afterall this year. I'd love to go out Saturday, but I don't know if it'll be safe or not. However, I'm going to Mendon tomorrow (got fambly on my side that will be in town from Nevada) so I'll look at it and maybe even drive by the shore and get a closer look on my way to Mendon. I'll let ya know Friday night, I guess...

Ice is very cloudy looking as apposed to the clear ice that was there a few days ago. It was 45 degrees there on Thursday. Ice looks dangerous and didn't go out. Nobody else was fishing there.

Fished it night before last and it was 4"+ of clear ice out from the ramp. There were alot of nasty looking spots all over. I would stay away from it for a couple cold days.

[black]I live in Hyrum and it's 48 degrees this morning at 6:00 am. Not at all good for ice. I'm headed for Mantua this morning to check it out as well.[/black]

[black]Mantua is pretty much toast. it's capped but the ice is covered with water and that "sick ice" gray color, When you step on to it, it flexs under your weight. IMO, Forget Mantua till we get a few days of sub-freezing weather.[/black]

According to the weather reports it should be cold this weekend, so next week it should be good.... At least I hope so. [laugh]
