Hit the "field" today after many success stories from the previous day or two. It was one of the slowest bites i've ever had in my life! I and my brother hit the East side at first light and after many light bites i changed to a small fink and hooked the "guilty one" a 4 inch rainbow! We went 2 straight hours without a hook-up! My bro finally landed a 13-14 inch football. we went and fished by the dam for our last hour and had the same small fish teasin' us! We seen maybe 4-5 other fish caught in a 5 hour period! Any explanations why such a bad fish day? Other than that it sure was better than work or sittin' at home! A solid 10-12 inches of ice today and temps about 20-25! Good luck to all!

Thanks for the report, dropper!
I haven't fished Schofield for years now. It's always been one of the better popular areas, in my opinion. It also seems that Schofield and Strawberry get a lot of pressure. I would like to try it again one of these days, but that's quite a drive for me!
Keep us posted on any more trips!

We hit the field last monday with the same results. A few bites, one big bow, maybe 18 inches. And there were fish down their, I was recording them on my fish finder and my partner was viewing lots on his under water camera. I think they have been hit dang hard over the last couple weeks and they learn.

explanations? we were there yesterday and their mouths are still sore today! seriously though, that place gets a lot of pressure. the bigger fish seem to be a little tougher to come by now that its been hit hard. those little bows will drive you nuts at times! i can't tell you how many mealies and crawlers they swiped from us. thanks for the report! its good to hear that it got cold again. maybe i'll hit it again on monday or tuesday. (i have to keep them educated, you know!)

Friday 12/15
Sorry for the late report but the home computer is down. Wife and I fished near the island and kept limits of 14/15" Rainbows. Lots of lil' schoolies. ~20 ft of water under ~10" of ice. Small Glo and pink jigs and worm. Only fished ~2.5 hours. Wonderful weather. The bite was the lightest I've experienced up there.
Saturday 12/16 turned around after getting through SpFork Canyon. Deep slush was unplowed and felt it wasn't worth the risk. Saw many others going in as we left the canyon tho.
