Congrats and cute kids. I hope that I catch my share tomorrow, and I sure hope that the forecasted wind leaves us alone. I hate trolling while I am trying to ice fish!

LOL.
The wind was pretty fierce when we first got there on the 26th, but died out completely after the sun hit the ice.
I was getting good hard hits on minnows, but on mealies they were very light. []

Thanks, I will be well prepared with minnows (plain and salted) mealies, wax worms (somehow I ended up with lots of them), crawlers and a few other sweeteners to try.

We were at the ladders yesterday and it was only about 5 to 6" thick. CCE/W are also realatively newly frozen over. I wouldn't take anything on them yet. Mud Creek has had fishable ice for about three weeks so it is probably thickest.

i was on mud creek yesterday and the ice was about 11 inches thick. i wouldnt worry about a machine there, as long as you dont venture too far out. the main lake hasnt been frozen as long, so it wont be as safe. if you go too far, make sure to drill some test holes.
the fishing in mud creek was a little on the slow side. most hits were hard, and came on chub minnows.(attached to a white paddle bug) active jigging seemed to work much better than anything else.

[black]We've been runnin' sleds on Strawberry for a week now. You can't go everywhere but you can go a lot of places where the fishing is phenomenal![/black]

Oh how I wish I had a sled to get around up there... so many fish up there don't see a jig all season long. []
