Went up to pineview today. Weather was great. We fished the narrows about 1/2 way across from where the small road goes down to the lake. Good # of people on the ice.
Most fishers I saw had 1/2 doz perch and most had at least some crappie. We got 2 crappie and 3 perch in the 2 hours we stayed. Not super fast but worth the trip. good clear ice. Bring cleats. There is no snow to drag a sled on, had to carry everything down to the ice.
Drove up to Willard to see what was up. Sorry no pics, but if you look back to TD's post and subtract another 2 ft of water there you are. We drove over to the outlet and it is sticking completely 2' out of the water with water still being released. Nice to see that area without water, answers a lot of questions about what I saw on my sounder this year.
Last but not least, there was a guy fishing off the docks and he had a couple of crappie, there were dead and dying gizzard shad visible and the Bald Eagles were waiting for us to leave so that they could have dinner. We saw 3 Balds and a Golden. Two of the Balds let us get close enough to plainly see the yellow beak. About 100'. We probably could have gotten closer but I didn't want to make them nervous enough to fly away.
