Hit Pineview with djremo, Lil'Lunkerhunter and djremo's kids at 8 am on New Years Eve.
Started off very slowly then started to heat up as the day progressed.
I had a hit early on and then about 10 i caught a huge crappie! Over the next 3 hours we landed 20 crappie, all over 10" but 4 that we released, 5 perch that were all dinks with one nice 9 1/2" pig. I had a tiger hooked for about 15 seconds and that was it. I also caught 3 very small gills.
Ice was extremely slick. 6" or so and very solid even on the edges. The air temp never got above 25 degrees when we left at 1:30. It was about 0 when we got there. Most fish were caught on a ratso and waxie on the bottom in 53' of water. They were very finnicky.
Also, be prepared to keep all of the fish you catch in that deep of water. We only had 4 fish revive that we tried to release.
