Killiefish and I fished the hard water of Currant Creek tues. Caught a lot of cuts' all 14-16 inches. So since Deer Creek is still clear of ice, we headed up this morning in the for some soft water fishing in the Dog House. Started fishing about 9:30, out of the island ramp, and started picking up rainbows right off the bat. Some wind, rain, snow all morning. But the fishing was good. We caught 4 nice sized Browns for a bonus. Bows went from 14 to 18 inches. Caught them on a variety of lures, Rapalas and other crank baits, some on the down riggers as deep as 45 ft. up to 5 ft. some on top. I enjoy my two pole permit. But I had 2 fish on at the same time a few times, that gets a little crazy. Pulled off about 1:00 still catching fish as we pulled to the boat ramp.

Thanks for posting your report FF2, glad to hear there are some people still getting out on DC and doing good. It sure makes fishing a lot easier in than C-Dory I bet. Did you see anyone else out there on the soft water? WH2

I've been watching boats onthe water at DC all winter and wondered how the fishing was. Thanks for the report. I saw you guys putting the boat on the trailer. That is the right boat for fishing this time of year. It looked like it could make winter fishing very comfortable even in a snowstorm.

There was 1 boat on the water when we launched. The weather went down hill and when we took the boat out of the water the other trailer was gone.
