The Department's volunteer programs provide many ways for citizens to get involved in environmental restoration projects. Becoming a volunteer is easy. There is so much that needs to be done to help preserve, protect and enhance Maryland's natural resources, and you can help us! You can become a DNR volunteer if you care about the outdoors, if you want to help improve Maryland's environment, and if you enjoy working with others who want to help. All of the Department's opportunities are listed on this site. Here are some tips to get you started!
Volunteers can donate a few hours or several weeks to the Department's many volunteer projects. You can volunteer on weekdays, weekends or a combination of both. Simply find the volunteer project on this site that interests you. Each volunteer project has a coordinator, contact phone number, and in most cases, an e-mail address. If you have any questions about specific projects, please e-mail the project coordinator. For larger community organizations, such as schools, scouts, church groups, and service organizations, tree plantings are the most appropriate selection. If you have questions e-mail us at Maryland DNR.
