I am planning on doing an am AF trip in the next couple of weeks. I usually only ice one or two at AF, so I would like to get more fishing and catching after I leave AF(I usually only stay at AF for three hours in the morning.) I have never fished Lake Walcott, but have heard they are some of the best tasting trout around. I looked up the stocking report and they put a lot of fish in this place. If anyone could tell me a method or place to fish on the lake I would appreciate it and I am always willing to return the favor.

I thinking about ice fishing Walcott but haven't taken time to ice fish it yet. I've also been thinking about ice fishing out around Massacre Rocks. Anyone ice fish any of these areas and wouldn't mind sharing what you know?
I don't think the catch rate at Walcott will be much better than American Falls. From American Falls it will take about 45 minutes to drive to the dam at Lake Walcott where most people ice fish.
I will probably fish American Falls from 7am to 9 or 10am tomorrow. I don't think I will be fishing right by the Westside boat ramp though. If you are going to be there tomorrow morning and would like to fish by me and a friend, send me a PM. (Yes, I do know how cold it is going to be tomorrow morning[crazy])
If you want to do more catching after fishing American Falls I would highly recomend fish the McTucker Ponds on your way back home. I've had as good of catch rates at the McTucker ponds as any of the reservoirs around Malad. Just like Devil Creek, the trout at McTucker Ponds usually don't have much time to grow before someone catches them for dinner. The largest rainbows that I have caught at the McTucker Ponds have been in the 15"-16" range with 10-13" fish been the most common. The farthest pond to the East and farthest pond to the NE are the two that are currently being planted with trout. The other ponds have bluegills, largemouth bass and channel catfish. I believe all of the ponds have bullheads and green sunfish. The bluegills, LMB, bullheads and green sunfish all tend to be on the small side.
