Ice fished a community pond today. I won't name it due to the small size of these ponds.
I arrived late, having never been there before. I parked across from the golf course. It was an easy walk down the access road, but the face of the dam was a little harder to get down. Ice was a solid 7" everywhere I drilled. Tried about 7 holes, from 26 to 15' deep. On about the 6th hole, 26' I got a nice gill. Then on the next drop a crappie. It slowed down again, i drilled another hole, then a big crappie (11"), then another crappie. That was it for me.
4 fish limit in about 2 hours. Enough fillets for fish taco's and a nice close afternoon.
