Has anybody ever tried catching panfish in the bear river anywhere, I was just thinking of giving it a try, It looks like there might even be good ice in some places.

Benson Marian has some crappie, bluegill, walleye, catfish, bass. I don't know if ice forms good enough for ice fishing. You would have to be very carefull because of all the currents moving around from the bear river.

I have caught crappie, bass, carp, walleye, and catfish out of the Bear River. I've heard of perch and bluegill.

I WOULD NOT consider ice fishing on the river. It may be frozen but with the fluctuations in water flows that the river experiences the ice may not always be safe. Benson Marina could possibly produce some fish, but I would try Newton or Hyrum before I fished the Marina. That stuff just scares me.
