I have to pick up a gun safe in Perry (near Brigham). I was going to Fishlake on Sunday but now I will be up North so I might as well fish up there. I don't make it past Willard but once a year and am not real sure of the 'hotspots' that are up north. I know of Mantua and Hyrum but I don't know what else is up there within an hour or so of Brigham. I'm taking my six year old (that's why I was going to fishlake, catch fish all day) because she has been begging me. I'm not really worried about size of the fish but the quantity, I gotta keep her entertained. Any help would be appreciated-post or send a pm.

Pineview for perch and crappie or East canyon for slimers.

I've read some reports on Pinview, I wouldn't mind getting into the crappie but I dont know where Cemetery point etc. are. Anyone have an easy to post map or a link?

[cool][#0000ff]Here are some maps I snagged off Topozone.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Get to Cemetery Point by going around through Huntsville and back up onto the peninsula. The gate is open and no fees during the winter.[/#0000ff]

There appears to be a road between Hyrum and Huntsville on the topo. Probably summer time only. Does anyone know anything about it?

[cool][#0000ff]Hwy 39 goes east and north out of Huntsville, but not to Hyrum. It goes over Monte Cristo. And, even though it is a good road it is subject to winter closures.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are no major roads going north from Pineview that connect to the Logan area. You still have to do Sardine Canyon and then back up Ogden Canyon. There is a "dotted" road that goes from Eden up through South Canyon, coming eventually into Paradise and Hyrum. But, from what I hear, it is bad enough in the summer. You wouldn't want to think about it in winter...even with a snowmobile.[/#0000ff]

The road from Eden is the one I am talking about. It looks like a dirt road and I was hoping to take a ride that way during the summer. Looks like it's a doable thing. Some roads on Topos seem to disappear.
Thanks

Joyride,
You can make that drive in the summer no problem. You can do it now on a sled. Can be a little rough. Dont take the caddy.

When you take that ride, bring your pole and stop off at Porcupine. I think it's the first paved road to the east on the Paradisw side. That is a nice ride in the summer.

[black]It is a pretty drive but those switchbacks can be nothing but washboards![/black]

If you drive fast enough, it's smooth as glass. LOL

Thanks for the info!
