Went out after work tonight and fished for about an hr. Caught 1, 16" and lost one, he even took the red & white fly that Brian made for me. That little jig actually caught both fish.
Ice is a good 8" at Grey's Landing. No one was there but there are many holes out there. I was in about 15' of water, actually fairly close to shore, I had a piece of night crawler on the jig. I had a green and yellow jig in about 7' of water, no hits and a larger silver tube (one of Brian's) in about 20' water again no hits.
There wasn't any breeze and the sun set was great. You had the coyotes and the ice singing, pretty awsome!
Heres a pic.

Cool Michael [cool]
Did you happen to sonar those holes, or were you just fishing them?
No toothy fish this time eh?
I am thinking I may be coming down that way this spring/summer to tube that reservoir.

Yes I did use my bottomline sidefinder. Iused it for depth and am still strugling with how to use it. I had sonar in the side view at different distances when I shot down the shorline. I just don't know if it's the ice it sees or actually fish.
The water temp was 33 deg and like I said the 3 holes were 7' 15' 20'.
By toothy fish I have never heard of any walleye's being caught in this area except across the res on the other side. I have caught bass along there.
I fully recomend coming to tube it!! It is a blast and there are many big fish in there and with some luck some good walleye fishing. I actually caught my first Idaho walleye last summer. I can't wait till this next summer!
There supposed to be some good perch and some crappie in there too.

Thanks for the report. I hope I find time to get over there sometime in the next couple weeks.

Hi all,
I just posted a photo on my blog with a little information with it about the Idaho State Record Walleye that was caught from Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir last fall. The photo was compliments of Idaho Fish & Game. Nice fish!

Nice photo of that fish--thanks for the link, and for the post. I think I was on your blog before I ever found this website. Pretty cool stuff [cool]
I, too, am from Idaho Falls, but I now live over in the Boise area. Used to fish that area like a mad man. I fished everything from the south fork of the snake, north fork by St. Anthony, Ashton, Chester, Menan springs (great little rainbows that were freshwater shrimp fed, and bright orange meat), and all the creeks and reservoirs in between. I sure miss it!

Thanks for the kind words about my blog. I hope a few people are reading it and enjoying it. Leave me a comment when you are over on the blog. We can interact there also!
It is funny, I used to live in the Boise area. Some (20) years or so ago. I am familiar with a lot of that water over that way. Sometimes, I miss the old waters too.
