Boy you really got into them[Wink]. Where did you go?

Wow,

Those are some beauties! Did you catch any trout or perch? What part of the lake were you fishing? I am thinking about taking a beginner up there and would like to catch some fish. Has anybody else tried Jordanelle?

wow nice looking bait! [sly]

now you just need to take it to fishlake or joe's valley and you could do some dammage to them Splake!

That's what I was thinking. Try buying that much bait out of the freezer at Sportsmans! Think I'll head up in an hour or so and see if there's any left for me![Wink]

[#0000ff]Wanna play lets make a deal?[/#0000ff]

Nah, I want something that would catch splake bigger than 5-6 inches!!

[cool][#0000ff]Obviously you don't know how I measure fish...between the eyes.[/#0000ff]

I really hope you didn't play catch and release with those nasty things. Smile

We caught a few perch along with these fine bait specimens, and I have a question regarding the perch. In about 30% of the perch that I brought home, I observed some cysts in the flesh. Is it known that a percentage of the perch in Jodanelle are carriers of some type of parasite? I've attached some pics of a cyst infested fillet.

[cool][#0000ff]Those began to appear last year. They are unsightly but harmless to humans. If you are squeamish, don't eat them. They are not in all the fish. Otherwise, coat the fillets (camoflage), cook them and enjoy them. Extra protein and not harmful.[/#0000ff]

This might help answer your questions;

By way of update, I frequently capped off a morning of bassin (at Rock Cliffs) this summer by catching a meal of perch and I still have not found any of these parasites in Rock Cliffs perch, only Hailstone perch. Has anyone discovered them elsewhere?

yeah, i noticed those nasty looking specks a long time ago and posted about it. Harmless or not, it IS gross looking. But I guess cooking will kill it. Still.....ewwwww! lol.
