It was a great day to be out on the Ice. I went up there with Maniac and my uncle. It took us a while to find the fish but when we did they were some lunkers. I ended up catching 3 fish that were over the slot. One 22 inches and the other one was 23 and one just over 23. The fishing was kind of slow we just didn't mark many fish on the finder but the ones we did seem to bite. We also found out that a little piece of chub meat on an Ice cut'r was the ticket. Mealies did't seem to work as well. The color of the day was the white with the red flake with a white head. I ended up only catching around 20 fish or so. I think James did about the same and my uncle was around the 15 fish mark. We found the fish in 18 to 30 feet of water. I caught the bigger fish in 18 foot by a weed bed. but all in all it was a pretty good day. Maniac will post some pics later. [signature]

Are you abe to take 4 wheelers around to soldier creek?

Where we went you wouldn't have any problem if you have 4 wheel drive.

Thanks for the info.

We had a good time up there, Ive had better days but we did catch some nice fish. The biggest I caught was 19-1/2".
Ice Cut'r in glow worked good in the early morning, later in the morning the secret recipe worked real well and in the afternoon the white with red flake produced the best. Skeeter was the MAN on that trip catching the three biggest fish.

I was at Sportsmans (Midvale) on Fri. and noticed that they had several different colors to choose from over in the ice fishing section.

We want to try Strawberry and I thought I had all the hot lures. Never heard of the one you mentioned. What is the brand and where can you find them. Someone said they saw them at Sportsmans, but they didn't say what brand lure it was. Is it Maniac lures? You said it was an ice cutr bug with red flake. Right? Thanks for the help

The "lure" in question is an Ice Cut'r made by Manic. Sportsmans had several colors: pearl, pearl with gold and silver flakes, white w/ red flakes, charteuse, crawfish, and a few others. I believe they were the 2" size. Hope this clarifies!

The lure is called a Maniac Ice cut'r bug. They have them at Sportsmans, Smith and Edwards, Anglers denn, and they now have some at the strawberry marina store. Theres a few more places but maniac will have to fill you in. Hopefully he'll start selling the special blend it worked kick butt in the morning.

Here is a list of the places you can get the Ice Cut'r, Sportsmans in Riverdale, Midvale and Grand Junction Colorado, Also Anglers Den in Riverdale, Smith and Edwards at the Willard Bay turn off, Ace Hardware in Tremonton and Strawberry Marina Store. Also you can buy them on line at http://www.maniaccustomlures.com
Just as a note, the tail can be split by pulling on each side of the tail seperating the thin membrane of plastic than runs down the center of the tail. A #2 jig hook in 1/16oz or 1/8oz works the best but a #6 jig hook will also work, the hook should be positioned between the split on the tail if properly rigged. If anyone has any more questions please feel free to reply to this post or send a P.M or Email. The Ice Cut'r is also deadly in the open water vertical jigged or swim it slow.

We don't have a two inch, you want the 1-1/2" ice cut'r. The 1-1/2" cut'r is the smallest of the cut'r bugs and is the only one that is made to split the tail, although you can cut the bigger cut'rs down the middle for added action. We just use custom painted jig heads with a round head and a barb or keeper on the shank to help hold the lure on, you can get them at any tackle shop. We may offer jig heads this Summer.

thank you, ordering them now...

James,
Are you still making the reapers? I have been looking for some to replace the used ones from the summer, but have not seen any. I met you at Mantua awhile back and I think you said something about the cutters replacing them, but I cant remember. I have been using the glow and white/red flake 1.5 cutters and love them. Got all of my buddies hooked on them.

Thanks Maniac! I will go online a have a look. You didn't mention Sportsmans in Midvale. Do they not have your lures? Anyway, I have ordered stuff from you website before. Thanks again.

Yes the Cut'r Bugs are replacing the original reaper, we no longer produce the old reaper, the reson for this is the new cut'r bug has a thin tail wich produces alot more action and more and bigger fish. However we still have a bunch of the old reapers in some of the original colors, if you want some of the old reapers we have reduced the price on them to $1.50 per bag plus shipping, that is cheaper than wholesale. let me know what you want!
