Went up to pineview looking for crappie and meet some new people from BFT. Found a few of both. Met with LH2 and he showed us where to go and what to do. I have never fished for crappie before, so I was unaware what to do. But I iced three before we had to go at noon.

Once my finder warmed up and started giving me true reading I was able to take his advice and realize what a bite was. I couldn't believe how light the bites were!

We fished the narrows and were there at daybreak. Used everything from ratso's to rat finkies and small ice jigs tipped with mealworms and wax worms. I had a yellow/white kastmaster above a pink ratso and thats what I caught them on. I don't remember what my brother caught his on, but the fish was only 6 inches so it barely counts anyway.

Nice work on getting some fish through the ice. Pineview can be hot/warm/or cold this time of year.

We actually decided to do Pineview for the first time today instead of Yuba and like evryone else it was slow. Two of us landed 5 perch and one crappie. They did taste dang good tonight - wish I would have fished it a few weeks ago! We fished right off cemetary point.

[cool]Thanks for the report. Sounds like it's really starting to slow down around there. I think I'm headed to the Hailstone area of Jordanell this Saturday now, as the reports from Rock Cliffs haven't been steller either (for perch anyway...)

Yeah, it was a bad for everyone. I caught 1 crappie and 2 perch.

Hey my fish was seven inches not six.[mad] Well six and a half by contest standards.[] Not sure of all the names of the people we meet yesterday so I will just say it was nice to meet everyone even if the fishing wasn't all that great.
