I'm looking forward to your report. I plan on going to Fish Lake in the next little while and plan on hitting Otter Creek the following day if it's worth the stop.

Otter Creek is certainly living up to it's "hot" status. 7 of us hit it on Saturday from 1:00 until 4:00. We took home 26 fish (I was the only person that felt it was unnecessary to keep a limit...). Fishing is VERY good right now at Otter Creek.
All the reports keep saying white jigs. White worked well, but because of my personality I just had to something different. My results? It didn't make much difference. I used both an olive and a black maribou jig and caught as many fish as anyone using white, and more than few guys.
The biggest difference I noticed: I caught two cutthroat. One of those was 18".
It was a good day.

Otter Creek was good to us again although it was not fast and furious like it was on our Christmas trip. We iced 11 between three of us, only two were small. The rest were 16" to 18" fat rainbows. There were lots of bites that we did not hook and and we lost a couple at the hole. We started in close and picked up a couple fish and then it died. Then we moved further out away from the crowds and the action picked up. Some times it would be a while between bites or a fish but with the size of the fish it was well worth the wait. We fished chartruese paddle bugs and pink and white ice fliess. The fish showed a definite preference for the small ice flies. We caught almost all of our fish two to three cranks off the bottom.
It was also nice to breathe air you don't have to cut with a knife. the sun was out and I picked up a nice sunburn. All in all a wonderful day.

We were up off the big point at the north end. I heard people have been doing well over on the East side too. I have not fished off Tamarisk Point this year.

thanks utahbill I dont think I am going to wait to go next weekend. I told the guy remodeling my bathroom that he was on his own tomorrow and I am going out fishing. To nice of week and weather to be stuck indoors. Its like they say fishing isn't a matter if life or death it's much more important than that!!!

I haven't fished Piute this winter but last fall we tried it from the shore and only caught one fish. A boat came in and they had limited out all of the fish were nice but I can't remember them well enough to compare with Otter.
