Hit Fishlake today, I woke up late at the hotel and didn't hit the ice untill 9:00. Fishing started strong but shut off around 2:00 pm. Fished in 80' splake and bows were suspended 12-20'. I fished on the east side away from the small crowds. Report from the west side was dinky perch and small bows under 12". Seems I made the right choice. Average was about 16". I must have had 35-40 fish, I lost count around 11:00 when I got a Mack to the hole and lost it. I would guestimate around 6-7 lbs and thrashing around like a snake in a lawnmower[laugh]. That was the only taker on the big rig, a few curious taps later on and that was it. 10-12" of solid ice.

I kept an eye out for him, I was so far away from everyone else that I probably wouldn't have seen him anyway. It was a great day to be on the ice.

I also Hit Fishlake on Saturday. The bite was a little slow down toward the middle of the lake, but then again we were limited to the west bank and not very far out because of no motorized transportation across the lake and the Six children me and my brother in laws took out with us. Had lots of little splake and bows but never got into any numbers of perch. But did see a heck of a trout swim by under the ice probably around 24 inches long

I am heading to Fish Lake this weekend and obviously I would like to hook a mack. What type of set up should I use to lure one of those bad boys to my hook? Also were you fishing across from the lodge or the boat ramp?

Glad to hear you got into at least one Mac. I woke up with a cough and the wife told me i had to stay home so i wouldnt get sick again. Next weekend for sure i have to get outta this house and go fishing!!!!!!!!!!
