Fishhound is just razzin' ya. Ice flies are small jigging spoons if you will. They usually have some color, or glow, with an eye painted on them. They are quite small, about 1/2" long. Tip them with some form of meat for catching fish.

Also referred to as "tear drops". The ice fly term must be a Utah thing or something, becasue when I moved here 15 years ago and said "teardrop", I received a bunch of slack-jawed yocal-type stares, until they realized ice fly and tear drop were one in the same. Does that help?

[cool][#0000ff]Some of us actually tie "ice flies"...unweighted goodies to use as droppers along with small spoons or weighted jigs.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Going in the other direction, I tie some small jigs in a "fly" style that are often quite effective under the ice.[/#0000ff]
