So I'm finally going to get out ice fishing for the first time in 2 years. Unfortunately we don't have machines to get out to the better areas (though I would be happy to drill a ton of holes for a ride) []

Anyway, any thoughts on where we can walk to and get into some fish? It will be me and my dad, and I doubt if he will walk too far, but we can walk a ways depending on the conditions on top of the ice. (Is there any snow / slush on top?)

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated as it has been a while. We do have a shack and a power auger. Got lazy after the first couple of cold trips when you work up a sweat drilling, then freeze because of the sweat.

If you called the marina store or just walked in and asked them they will give you a ride out on a snowmobile and then come pick you up when you want to go home. They will charge you twenty bucks or so, but it beats walking and will get you away from the big crowds. They did it for me last year.
