Had time to fish Ririe four a couple hours this afternoon. I was looking for perch and a school of kokanee or two but that didn't happen. Shallowest hole we drilled was 8 feet deep and deepest hole was 80 feet deep. Caught perch and cutts in 8-41 feet of water. Most bites were very light and jigging every now and then seemed to help. Used a variety of small tube jigs and ice flies and jigging rapalas to get the smaller ice flies in deeper water. Caught fish on jigs tipped with both nightcrawlers and wax worms. We didn't catch anything over 13" and action was slow but steady. I didn't measure the ice but I would guess it was close to 15" of clear solid ice. If we had put in a few more hours and moved around some I'm sure we would have had better luck. At least the weather wasn't half bad and it was nice to get out. [Smile]

This is a picture I took at about 3 pm when we were getting on the ice. This is the view strait West of the boat ramp. I would guess there at least 60 fishermen on the ice around 3 pm. I may have seen as many as 100 fishermen in the two hours I was there. That is a few more anglers than I'm use to seeing.

Hey Brian,

Thanks for the report. I am having similar success at Ririe. Really not fast fishing, but, lots of ice fishers chillin' on the ice.

Thanks for the report Brian. I went out to Ririe on Friday for four hours. My son and I caught 7 Cutts and three perch no Kokes. The trout are about 2"s smaller on average then last year and they seem even skinnier then normal but I can always depend on them along the banks to put a bend in my rod.

I think people hit the perch hard the first few weeks. I was still seeing them on the aquaview but couldn't get them to hit anything.

I have never seen Ririe get hit so hard as it is getting hit this year.

Good Luck to All

Great report guys! Brian glad to see you make it up this way. WindRiver I am glad school let out for you so you could get some fishing in; I was thinking ice at 6:30 am, but no such luck. I fished Ririe last night from 2:30-6:00 and did really well for perch. My best action was from 4:30-5:30 in the end I iced 25 nice perch. Earlier last week my son landed two nice 10.5 inch perch. I have got into the kokes twice and the cutts have been pretty consistent.
