Prospective hunter and bowhunter education students in Long Valley, Round Valley, Council country and elsewhere in the state, have the options of home study or online courses.
"We wanted folks to know that these options were available," Fish and Game wildlife educator Dan Papp said. "Public demand for classes continues to rise, and we want to try and meet that demand with these other alternatives."
Students choosing the $8 home-study option should pick up their materials soon.
"Home study students have 30 days to complete their workbook and return it to the office," Papp noted. "They can then register for one of the upcoming field days, which they must successfully complete to become certified."
The first field day is scheduled for late March.
Students anywhere in the state with Internet access may choose to complete the $15 online course.
"Students completing this course must take an online examination," Papp said. "They can then print out their course completion certificate, bring it to our office, and register for a field day."
For online students, the field day includes an additional $8 charge.
