MIAMI BEACH, FL. - The Billfish Foundation (TBF) today honored an Arizona

resident for his efforts in conserving the billfish species throughout the<br />
2006 competition year. Jacob Pearcy was recognized for his catch and<br />
release efforts while offshore fishing. Pearcy won awards as the Overall<br />
Tagging Youth Angler and the Top Tagging Youth Anger in the 9- and 10-year- old age group. Pearcy was presented with his awards at the Miami Beach Rod<br />
&amp; Reel Club on Friday, February 16, 2007. He currently resides in Oro<br />
Valley, Arizona.

"The success of TBF relies heavily on the active participation in our tag<br />
and release efforts by today's youth," Ellen Peel, President of TBF,<br />
said. "Tonight, we honor Jacob Pearcy for his tagging efforts and highlight<br />
him as an example to our next generation of conservation minded anglers."

TBF is the world's leading non-profit organization dedicated to advancing<br />
research, socio-economic awareness and public policy to conserve billfish<br />
worldwide, which helps ensure healthy oceans and strong coastal economies.<br />
The Annual Tag and Release Competition contributes significant data for<br />
scientists and decision makers to reveal billfish numbers, movements,<br />
growth, and other factors critical in understanding the species and its<br />
responsible management.
