Went to Bear Lake to ice fish it for the first time. Went with polo kid and we both took our wifes. Polo's wife likes the outdoors and has been ice fishing for sometime now, for my wife it was her first trip ice fishing. We rented a condo and and headed up Sunday Afternoon. Got there in time to fish for about 2 hrs and no luck. Went back to the condo and had fondue elk and deer from last Oct kill. Yum Yum

Day 2 headed out early. My wife Jenie was the first to catch a fish and sure enough it was a 6lb Mac. Kodac Moment. It was the only Mac that was caught on the trip but was worth it to see how she reacted to catching the fish. It was pretty funny, people heard her screaming from half way across the lake. I ended up landing 2 cuthroats, so it was pretty slow fishing, yet a very memorable trip.

Happy for the wife, but ironic that I have been out 8 times this year ice fishing and she has caught the big fish for the year on her first and only time. I guess thats how it always goes for first timers. Maybe she's the better fisher of the two of us.

It sounds like a good time. You had better luck than we did. How much for the condo?

Condo came out to $98 per night with 2 Queen Beds. (Weekday rate) It had nice kitchen and also access to indoor pool and hot tub.

If you want a room, request room 107 or 209 they are the nicest in that pricing category. We split room between the two couples so it came out to $50 each, and had tons of fun.
