about a year or two ago someone had posted a link to a map of bear lake that showed the contours of the bottom. Anyone know where to find that map?
Thanks.

They have some literature in the visitor center at BearLake marina that shows the lake, and has lines around the lake to show the depths at different parts of the lake, but I don't know if that is what you are looking for or if there is a better one out there somewhere, this one is not very detailed.

you can also buy the water proof, tear resist maps at cabelas or sportsmans...sportys may be better bet for local lakes.

I made the one map that TubeDude posted in http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=18297;
It's actually been updated since then to include the locations of the new man-made rock piles. I have the updated map posted at http://home.comcast.net/~thumbrock/images/bltopo.jpg
I basically took USGS topo map data of the land and then added bathymetry data obtained from this report http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2003/of03-150/html/CDRCONT.HTM
Here's a PDF version of the bathymetry from the report http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2003/of03-150/html/pdf/BATHY.pdf

Thanks for the update. I have it saved in 2 places now so I can be sure to find it.
Do you know of any way I can take my waypoints off my gps (Garmin E-Trex) and place them on the map so I have a visual of where all the marks are? I don't know if that is possible but it sure would be cool.

Travis .... Did you see that the link I posted above answered your question on currents in Bear Lake?
