You may want to read the information on my Blog on Walleye fishing at Oneida. Sounds like the information may be what you are looking for. I know it has tempted me some to think about making the trip.

The walleye in Oneida have left me skunked on three different occasions but I was only fished for them for about an hour each time.It is difficult to stay fishing at Oneida when there are other more promising waters near by. If the Walleye fishing at Onieda was better more people would fish it. The Bear River is where the fish spawn and the limit is only 2 walleye in March and April. I would assume that is the best time to catch them. Good luck if you go out to Oneida this spring.

I went to Oneida on Saturday to try my new power auger out. I drilled 3 holes and found a lot of dirty water. I couldn't even see my bright orange scoop 3 inches under the water. I didn't even try fishing. the auger worked good though.

I had the same experience as BMURR on the ice at Oneida. I have tried the river below the dam with one good trip catching three rainbows and two small mouth in 1.5 hrs. and today I fished for two hr.s with no fish to show. I talked to a couple fly fisherman just below the bridge in the Narrows that had no luck.

I tell you guys what, I am not here to "showboat" by any means, but I have fished the Narrows for over 20 years now and have NEVER been skunked, and I can assure you (no "fishing" talk here) that EVERY time I have been there I have caught AT LEAST 30-45 fish each outing!!!! I know the subject is about the walleyes and I do catch an occasional one here and there (I use a brown and black rapala) below the dam and even in the Res. Anyhow, I will be there next weekend for sure, if you run across me feel free to say hello!!!

the narrows used to be much better than it is now. Unless of course you hit it right after the hatchery truck has left, then there will be holes that are stocked pretty tight with fish. But compared to 7 or 8 years ago- even 2 or 3 it isn't the same river. when the flows changed, cutthroat were talked about as if they could make a come back (not) and the brown stocking stopped and they were thought off as a 3 rd class fish- it started going down hill in a hand basket. The hatches are even different than they used to be and the fish feed to them differently also. I used to put no less than 3 days a week from Riverdale to the Power Plant in but as the fishing digressed so did the amount of time I put in there. I DO NOT want to see a dam put in there even if the river was barren of fish though.
