[cool][#0000ff]Sheesh! Minus 7 degrees at the ramp when we hit Jordanelle about 7 this morning. Almost a foot of snow on 12" of good hard ice. Also some ice on the facial hair of anyone running a sled or wheeler across to perch central station.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]A couple of the machines were balky in the cold as was my ice auger. But several trolley trips on the Pikeman Express got most of the gang settled in around the general area. We even "shanghaied" a couple of folks who had no idea what was going on, with the ransom being that they join BFT. That worked out good for David Kempe and his grandkids. His granddaughter Cassandra Reeder scored one of Pikeman's ice rod setups and ended up with a dandy cutt later. He says he has been a lurker but will be joining us soon.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Apologies in advance. No way I can remember all who showed up or introduced themselves. I was busy fishin'. Caught 2 nice browns early and one decent perch later, but most were pretty small. There were several in the group who bagged a few eatin' size perch. And two of the youngsters who got rigged ice poles (with TubeDude jigs) got nice cutts after lunch.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Thanks to Mrs. and Mrs. Pikeman. Great party and great feed. The fried perch fillets and taters were delicious and the tartar sauce was the best I have ever had.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Ice in the guides and the fishin' holes all day. Temp was still only 27 when we headed out about 2:30. A good had was timed by all.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]C'mon everybody, let's all show some appreciation to Pikeman and tell our own true stories of how the fishing went (or not) for each of us.[/#0000ff]

Nice report TD.
Glad you guys had a great time. I would have loved to have been there rather than laying here fighting off the flu. Miserable! Nice to see the little ones basically outfished the adults. Always great to see that. Nice Cutt that little one latched into

[font "Lucida Console"][#ff4040]Great report Pat! I would have been out there but I had to work (even though half the time I was checking to see how everyone was doing with the camera). I had a buddy that went out there today also and he said that he caught quite a few perch but they were all dinks.[/#ff4040][/font]

It looks like ya all had fun. I wish I could of come. TD I think you could just thread a jig back into some of those perch use them for baits.

A buddy and I showed up around 12:30 to catch the tail end of the party. It was good to meet a few more BFT'rs. We had to try a couple different spots to find the fish but once found the bite was very steady for about two hours. Actually getting the hook set was another story altogether. We were the last ones out there and stayed until about 3:30 when the bite suddenly dissapeared. Between the two of us we iced around a dozen perch ranging from 4-10 inches, one bow at about14" and one pretty fat chub. Good times!

Great report TD.
I would like to thank Pikeman for getting all of us to go one more time and for providing us with a way to get to the perch. You did a great job Glen feeding coordinating transporting and getting kids hooked for another time.
I enjoyed meeting many of you and apologize for not meeting all of you. We spent much of the morning in my Quick flip II since my son was cold and I was trying to warm him up so he would have a good experience. I ended up catching 12, 8of which I was able to fillet and am going to finally try TD's famous Perch Chowder tomorrow.
The day turned out to be spectacular (how many got a sunburn?).I whish I could have stayed till the last but we ahd other things to get accomplished today.
Again, a big THANK YOU to Pikeman and Mrs. Pikeman for the fish and fries and the super job they did of organizing a fantastic perch party. This will not be the last I attend am looking forward to the next.

A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME. IT IS FUN TO MEET NEW BFT MEMBERS AND PUT A FACE WITH A NAME. LIKE TUBEDUDE SAID MY APOLOGIES FOR NOT REMEMBERING EVERYONE'S NAMES. WITH MY LUCK IF I TRIED TO NAME THEM I WOULD MISS A FEW. THIS IS HOW THE FISHING POLES WERE DISTRIBUTED THE FIRST ONE WAS CHANDELAR HE WROTE ME A FULL PAGE IN HIS HANDWRITING AND THIS IS HOW IT READS:
I LOVE TO FISH TO REEL THE BIG FISH. I LIKE TO EAT FISH WITH MY DAD. I LIKE TO HOLD FISH WHEN THEY JUMP OUT OF MY HANDS. I AM SIX AND LIKE TO HAVE CONTESTS SO I CAN WIN.
THE NEXT WAS CASSANDRA AND I OWE A BIG APOLOGY TO HER BECAUSE IN ALL THE TO DO'S I MISPLACED HER REPORT. I WAS SO GLAD SHE HOOKED UP WITH HER NEW ROD. THERE WAS ANOTHER BOY WHO WON A POLE HIS PICTURE IS LISTED AS KID'S CUTT IN TUBEDUDE'S REPORT. SORRY CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME MUST BE HAVING A BLONDE MOMENT.

I L IKE ICE FICHING FUN
HIS BROTHER IS McCOY HE WRITES:
I LIKE ICE FICHING BE CUS IT GIS MY DAD OFF UV THE COWCH.
NOW IF YOU HAVE AN IMAGINATION OF HOW THEY WROTE THESE YOU WOULD IMAGINE HOW THERE WRITING LOOKED. NOW THAT WAS A VERY FUN THING TO GIVE AWAY THOSE POLES TO THOSE GREAT KIDS. THANKS AGAIN TO SPORTSMANS WAREHOUSE FOR THERE DONATION.
THE CUSTOM JIGS FROM TUBEDUDES ARSENOL WENT TO ICESLED (BEN) FOR THE MOST CAUGHT. HE CAUGHT 20 SOMETHING PERCH.
THE GENTLEMAN WHO FILLETED THE MOST HERE I GO AGAIN DAAAAAA! I FORGOT HIS BOARD NAME BUT HIS PROFESSION IS A SCHOOL TEACHER AND AN AWESOME MAN OF KNOWLEDGE OF FISHING IN UTAH. HE IS A DECENDANT OF ONE OF THE GREATEST GUIDES THAT GUIDED ON FISH LAKE. JOE NIELSON. THE LAND MARK JOE BUSH WAS NAMED AFTER HIM. SORRY I HOPE HE E-MAILS ME SO WE CAN FISH TOGETHER AGAIN.
MANY ASKED FOR THE RECIPE FOR THE PANKO. SO HERE IT IS.

Hello,
First I want to thank everyone that helped make this funciton happen. I was not able to attend but sounds like that I really missed something special.
I am Chandlers dad, the first kid to win a new pole. I was over at East Canyon after getting onto some sketchy ice edges. Fishing over there was unbelivalbly good today. We entered off the boat ramp and headed towards the damn by the second point. Me and my buddy Cory was hooking rainbows before our lines could reach bottom. Quit counting at 30 each and caught quite a few 2lb plus bows.
My dad, Chandler, and our friend Chris decided to head to Jordanelle for the party after Chris fell throw trying to get on the ice at EC.
Chandler my son, had wrote his essay last night all in his own words and in his own writing. I am a proud dad. Even though he didn't catch any fish today at X, he was sure happy and proud to show me his pole that he had won by writing his essay. He can't wait to show all of his adult fishing buddies that we go with. (Priceless) Thanks for doing this for the youth, for they are the future and things like this will surely impact their life forever.
My dad and never had Perch before and agreed that is sure is a tasty treat.
Sorry to miss the fun, but couldn't leave EC with the bite being so good.
Thanks again, and
to see that access ont the ice at EC is coming to an end.

I fished next to your boy for quite a while today and he was one happy camper.. I actually heard the conversation he had when he was telling you about his new pole and he was beaming.. pikeman did a really good thing today... AJ

Hey Glen thanks for the ride to and from the boat ramp. I had a great time samantha did regret not fishing today but there is always next time. She loved Mrs. Pikemans fish and wanted more but i told her she had to get on the ice and catch some if she wanted to eat more. [
] Even though the catching wasnt great it was good to be around good people who love to fish. [
] Thanks for everything you did and the awesome effort you and your family did. [

hey ocean, I think you left before you I could give your knife back to you.. I gave it to pikeman, we will find a time to get it back to you...
[signature]
Very nice! Some of those perchies are hawgs! Sounds like a good time was had by all. Nice report, and kudos to Mr and Mrs Pikeman.

The knife wasn't mine you must have borrowed it from someone else. There was so many people there it was kinda hard keeping track of who was who.But i did steal Pikemans orange perch container.[
] Sorry Glen i was returning it when i started dishing out some fish and fries for Sam and it fell onto my sled.I found it when i got home and started cleaning the car out. [shocked]

[blush]I would like to thank both you and Mrs. Pikeman for a job well done. The "Dude" and I appreciate all that you did to make the day an enjoyable one for us. I had a great time ... next time I plan to catch some fish!

Looks and sounds like a great party. Wish I hadn't already commited to bunny hunting yesterday. While hunting I was telling people about the party and they couldn't believe it. They kept asking who really planed all of it and why would people just do something like that. All I could tell them was there were a lot of nice people who are willing to share at BFT.

[cool][#0000ff]Don't go spreadin' evil lies and malicious rumors about us. We will sue ya for slander and defamation of character.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Come to think of it, you deserve some appreciation for the good stuff you do...like the ice fishing thing.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Yeah, we have much fun.[/#0000ff]

Just wanted to say thanks again to pikeman and family, it was nice meeting evaryone I met, I'm lousey with names. I allready had the tarter recipie in my head, now I have it written down, vary good. It does my heart good to know there are still some keepers left, not the fish, the people.

Thanks to Pikeman for organizing and encouraging this outing! It was nice to meet you at the ramp and when you made your "circuit" ride.
Tubedude & Tubebabe - did the auger ever kick in? You probably would have done ok at the "alternative" spot.
I fished in the "other" spot north and west of the ramp. What a mixed bag: about 25 little perch, 3 fatties from 10.5 to 11.5 inches, two fat chubs, and a 20" Brown at 11:45.
I left about noon - couldn't bear to hike through the snow to the rest of the group, but really enjoyed the day and meeting a few BFT'rs.
