finley got back in town last week. went to Fish lake yesterday.. we got there around 8:30 was on the ice by 9:00. went to joe bush strate out from the restroom. we fish from 35 feet to 70 feet of water. not much going on in the deep water.. i fished 70 feet for about 2 houres and cought 3 or 4 15" to 18" rainbows.. only seen one fish on the bottom in that 2 hours. so moved to 35 feet and started seen fish on bottom and top.. fishing was tuff yesterday. i could see the fish come in on the aqua-vu get right up to the jig and move on. i did manage to get one 21" mack on tube jig. and hook another bigger one that snaped my line as soon as i set the hook.. i must of had a nick in my line from the first mack.. darn thats mack fishing...
not a bad day of fishing tho.. lots of rainbows and smal splake up high 0 to 20 feet deep.. white tube tipped with perch or shinner did the trick all day.

ice was still looking good.. looked to be around 24 to 26 inches.. edges are getting slushy with all the run off comeing from the banks. but not a problem tell ya want to come in,in the afternoon..

Thanks for the report Ron. Billy and I are considering making the long trek to Fish Lake on Saturday. I have never ice fished it before -- sure wish it was a little closer.

Looks like you are going to replace the large mack from FG on the contest with this one. That is extremely kind of you Ron to give us a chance at winning.[Wink]

Hey fuzzy
I am thinking of going up to Fishlake this weekend and was just wondering when say there is slush near the edges is that slush on the ice near the edges or are the edges themselves going away? I was thinking of taking my wheeler and don't really want to go swimming yet.[Wink]
Thanks

well what it is, is the run off comeing from the banks around the lake are melting during the day alot of that water is just going right out onto the ice and setting there.. so realy slushy in the afternoon.. there have been wheelers on there but looked like they had a tuff time getting them through the slush there.. you should be ok this weekend as long as the night time temp stay cold and keep refrezeing the edges.. after this weekend i dont know.
