See the beauty of spring in Pocahontas County at the Whistles, Wings and Wildflowers Weekend scheduled for Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Pocahontas County June 1-3, 2007.
Friday starts at 4:15 p.m. with the Cass Showcase, a scale diorama of Cass and its industrial complex accompanied by an historical orientation film, followed by a wildflower walk at 6 p.m. and orientation meeting at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the early bird motorcar departs at 6 a.m. and train rides and hikes depart the Cass Depot at 7a.m. The Railroad and Logging History Museum is open free of charge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other activities are also available throughout Saturday. There is a Sunday morning hike on the Greenbrier River Trail starting at 7 a.m. and a wildflower walk at 9 a.m.
Train fares are $28 per adult, $18 per child and free for children five and younger. Lodging packages are available.
