This Friday, I am headed to Provo for business. I'm planning on taking the boat down and taking my brother in law and his two sons fising. They have been out of the country for 3 years, as we talked last week he said he had never done much in the way of fishing altough he is an avid hunter.

I was almost abhored (bite my lip) that his boys 9 and 5 had not been fishing, so I invited him to come along with me.

In an attempt to show him and his boys a good time I solicit your help!

Should we fish Utah Lake, Deer Creek or Jordanelle?

I live in Ogden and have not fished any of these waters for years.

Which one should I take them to and what reccomendations do you have.

We will be fishing out of a 19' crestliner. I have downriggers if needed.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide! I will be sure to post my report!

I have fished Deer creek the last 2 weekends and have done good. I would have done great if i had a downrigger!!![Wink] The fish have been between 20 to 50 feet .Using a downrigger you should knock them dead!! I have caught a couple of browns on rapalas and even bows. I have marked a lot of fish hugging the bottom could be perch or walleyes . Getting a rapala down there with a downrigger might get you a bite hint hint. Hope this helps.

I have done well at DC this time of year and as recently as Sat. Ocean has given you some good advice. I may be there Fri as well for a couple hours late AM.

DC is hot right now for bows. Lots of planters being taken. A few browns are showing up also. The usual spinners, rapalas (or the like) along with nightcrawlers and good ole power bait have been producing. Good luck and show those two boys a good time! YeHaaaa fish-on

Without giving up any honey holes, do you have suggestions as where I might start?

I have been reading west side of the lake by the rail road? Any others?

Thanks

On the west side by the railroad tracks there is a big cove there and outside of that cove between 20 to 50 feet there is fish all over there. I usually stop and jig there.Thats were i always catch fish. But remember the wind starts to blow about 11 am!! [pirate] Last sunday it got very nasty out there. Good luck out there.
