Went to Willard Thursday night for a couple of hours. We lucked out and found the fish right off the bat. We ended up catching 19 wipers from 5:30 until just before dark.
We went out again friday morning and we only caught 8 fish. We found out in the morning it was the best before the sun hit the water.
Then we went out again this morning and it was smoking hot. We ended up catching around 30 fish or so I'm not exactly sure how many we actually caught, but it had to be close to 30. Most of the fish were good size with only a couple of small ones. But it was game on all morning long, we caught most of our fish on the same old stuff Maniac Minnow in the chartreuse holographic, orange head 1/8 ounce. We also caught some on jerk baits. The last few days have been great. Check out the pic I actually caught one that was 25 1/2 inches long. One thing we found, well I can't give you all the secrets. He was a good fish, he only ended up wieghing 5 pounds 12 onces. The season is finally here.

Nice report Skeeter, guess we should have gone there today instead of BL. That is a great looking wiper too, might just be a good year on Willard after all. Thats for sharing your report and pictures.

Nice , I got beat up today from the waterskiers but I didn't get there till noon . Lost the only 2 fish I had on .

Im green with envy! []can you now put in a 14-15 foot boat and is the south open yet, you do not have to give all your locations but were was the hot spots, im going out monday, let you know of the report--great to see the fish again from willard KEEP UP THE GREAT CATCH[laugh] NICE PICS THANKS[cool]

You can launch just fine out of the South marina. You just need to be careful the marina is only 3 foot deep. I can't really say were I was, I don't want to spoil my fun yet. I will tell you I was on the east side.

Once you get out of the south marina does it stay pretty deep once you are out in the lake?

Once you get out of the south marina you need to keep going straight for about a 100 yards or so. If you turn South or north before then you will run a ground. Ounce you get out there your alright until you get over by the Island. The Island is sticking just a couple inches out of the water so be careful. The south east corner is extremley shallow as well.
