[font "Times New Roman"][blue][size 3]Fished BL with Bodine Saturday. We boated 9. 8 cutts, largest going around 5-6lbs and one Mack going around 8lbs.

Morning started out rough with monster waves and cold temps but with the heater going and spring ride seats, we had it pretty plush. Note to self (buy a nice boat, buy a nice boat) inside story.....

Jeff, as usual, got us on fish and we traded off hooking into the cutts. I didn't want to show him up so I backed off on the catching and let Jeff get a considerable lead on me. I was affraid he would make me swim back if I outfished him. I managed three of the eight and lost another due to stupidity. note to self again (reel in slack before setting hook)!

Last fish of the day was the Mac, and yes you guessed it.....Jeff caught that too. Was an awesome fish with a great fight.

All fish went back to the blue for another day.

Awesome day on the water with a great friend.

Thanks Jeff.

Great report Pat, except for the big fish it sounds like you guys did better than we did. Were you and Jeff the only two on his boat? I waved to some guys on another Jet boat that looked like Jeffs and one of the guys waved back. I believe his boat is a dark blue? There
sure were lots of jet boats over there on Saturday. Did you take any pictures of the big fish caught?

Just Jeff and I this trip. He took some pictures but I didn't even bring my camera.

Good for you guys on that catch. Does Jeff have vhf radio. I never use mine and need to fire it up and see if it works. I don't know what channel BFT folks are running but would like to get togeather out there on the lake. Make a jet boat raft. Have lunch togeather. Dan

Hello Kurt, yea I do believe we seen your guys out there. Here is a picture of my boat.

Yea, I was thinking that was your boat when we saw that Mercury kicker on the back. There were four of us in Dan's 21ft thunderjet but we were seeing so many big boats over on the East side I lost count. Do you have a VHF radio on your boat?

Were you the guys trying to run the side planners? I think we may have up set them a little cause we was fishing a depth and the were having all kinds of problems. No the only radio I have is a hand held cobra. I don't even know which channels BFPers use any more.

I guess it depends on what time you arrived on Saturday? We were trolling with side planners in the morning when we started fishing around 7am. After noon we were jigging because the water was a lot calmer. I don't remember seeing your boat until the afternoon. We started off trolling by the boy scout came and stayed in that area until the wind calmed down around 9:30 or 10am, then we crossed to the West side by ideal beach and started jigging. We thought we would call out for you next time if you had a VHF but thats Ok. Dan's boat has a radio but wiperslayers or mine doesn't have one either. I think the channel for the hand held units is 11.

I dont think that was Bodine in the morning there by boy scout camp. They had a high flat deck in back. I have to start getting fish on those down riggers. Need to change the releases or go to rubber bands for starters. later Dan

Yea, that is what I was thinking plus there just wasn't that many boats around us early in the morning. I do remember seeing a boat go by that had at least one side planner out in the afternoon, I bet that is who Jeff was talking about.
