Decided since today was my last day before i begin working again i should go out and do some fishing. i head to deer creek and fish off the charleston bridge facing the lake. im getting bites the whole time, but as i am not used to bank fishing i missed several bites, did manage to hook a nice rainbow before i was visited by some folk in a tin bin wanting to look at my bait with there underwater camera. they decided to tie up and wait on some walleye so i figured i would head to the other side of the bridge. i walked down a little ways and found a nice spot to toss into the river, and about 3 seconds after casting out i get a huge bite. i wait a second to feel the fish, sink hook into jaw and the battle was on. 15 minutes later my medium-heavy action rod is still doubled over, bent nearly to the water. still no sign of what i had hooked. that was about to change, just as some fellow fisherman came over to see what i was wrangling in, this fish goes airborne. i had thought it might have been a big trout earlier, but turned out to be a 32 inch bugle mouth. after a half hour of struggling this fish was spent, i dragged it up onto shore and one of the fisherman that came by asked if he could have it. he must have sensed that i had no need to haul a big carp out. (i rode my bike) after that the bite all but stopped so i headed upstream to my home. along the way i fished a fish small deeper pools on the river and the creeks around it, managed to hook into 3 nice browns and 1 rainbow. everything was caught on a worm drifting through the current. all the trout were 15+ 15 beign the smallest and 19 being the biggest. good day to be out, a little windy and stormy, but nice temps all around.
