Hey TubeDude or whoever still has one, do u have any pic of the rod holders mounted on?
I did like to see how you guys mount it on that. I just see it being limit to do much with it so I just had to add it in front.....
If I wanted three rods on the left I might as well go to the shoe guy and have him sew some D rings on the top and bottoms somewhere....so I could 'tie' the tubing on.

My tube has D rings on teh side and i use little screw gate rings and I-let rings.

[cool][#0000ff]Fishmaster sold some of the first commercial float tubes. They were great at the time, but very basic. However, they did sell some strap on rod holders that fit on the top of the tube. They did not work well, though and I lost a rod while using one.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I started using my own single tube PVC holder, as you can see in the attached two pics, as early as about 1978. Since the Fishmaster has few D rings, I had to just lash it on with nylon rope and air it up high enough to keep it tight with friction.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]By the way, the picture with all the catfish was a picture combining 4 limits from an all night cat-tubing trip. Of course I caught the three biggest ones...up to 14 pounds.[/#0000ff]

Hey TD your ride today has come a long way from back in the day. Do they still make a fishmaster?

[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, the FishMaster company is still in business. They started out in Oklahoma, making tubes for bassers to fish the farm ponds in the south. They also originated and still make the "paddle pushers"...that have small fins on the sides and propel you forward when you kick. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The original owner died a few years ago and the company was sold, but the new owners have continued to promote the old original round tubes. Strangely, they still sell a few.[/#0000ff]
