Anyone know of any fishing tournaments coming up here in Utah? Preferable Northern Utah, but one here or there at Powell wouldnt be bad either. Any species too. Any info would be great!!! Thanks

The last I heard, Smith and Edwards was putting one on next month at Willard but I don't have any of the details. You could call and ask them, their number is 731-1120.

I believe there is a tournament at Starvation on the 23rd of June called the Cure for Cancer Tournament, I have never fished it but the wife and I are thinking of entering this year. I think they have seperate divisions for fish.

Catch a Cure for Cancer. It's a great tourney and some real good people too. Jerry Schleif from RMA and his wife put alot of work in to getting it ready every year. I have fished it twice and will most likely fish it this year.

I've fished like 5 of the 7 years that it has been held. 2 divisions Walleye and Bass. My partner and myself usually fish both sides, and we accidently won the Walleye side a couple years back.
It is customery to donate all winnings back to the event. The raffle is one of the largest around. I even won a helicopter ride last year.
The 7th Annual Catch A Cure For Cancer Fishing Tournament will be held at Starvation Reservoir on Saturday, June 23, 2007.
CATCH A CURE FOR CANCER Fishing Tournament was started in early 2000 by Jerry and Carri Schlief who wanted to host a fishing tournament that could raise money for those with cancer. After speaking with the American Cancer Society, they chose to use funds that they raised to help support Camp Hobe, a special summer camp designed for children currently being treated for cancer, as well as their siblings.
Camp Hobe was created in 1985 and is sponsored by Primary Children's Medical Center. Camp Hobe Inc. is a 501©3 tax-exempt non profit organization based in Salt Lake City. Camp Hobe is designed to give cancer patients an opportunity to share experiences with other children with cancer. It is also designed to give siblings, who are often forgotten in the cancer experience, a chance to share experiences with other siblings.
