I thought I had better get this in before the deadline. I have made a few changes to my setup and am working on more.
First I thought I would show my new anchor (lost the good one), it's a peanut butter jar filled with tire anchors, and anchor rope holder. I had been using the piece of wood with the 2 v-notches, but it would end up floating in between my legs unraveling as it went[mad] what a hassle!
Along side the anchor rope holder is my new electric motor control box, notice the professionally done markers for speed and direction, 50# thrust motor pushes me and my gear around well and I think if I night fish I can mount a runnin light on the shaft or hang a light for fish attractant.
I had my rod holders across the back originally but that was quit difficult to get to them all easily so I put them at an angle on the left, non casting side, seems to be working OK, however the fly rods tend to move on a windy day. All the holders I've looked have a Velcro strap to keep them in place. Not sure if I'm going to do that.
I also had the strap on rod holders but they always seemed either to far away or just in the way, so I thought I would try using the oar locks . I took some hard wood and drilled a hole then took a knife and notched it to hold the rod holder in place.
I am having to use my fishin buddy fish finder, as my transducer went bonkers on the bottomline 100. I will eventually have a fixed finder mounted on the left side and the transducer mounted with PVC under my seat, I can reach it to turn it up if needed to protect it and it's always in the water there under me.
I have installed a rotating seat and found that I need the locking type cause when I would be just using my fins to move around, the seat would turn and it was not comfortable or very efficient for getting around.
I have attached three extra bags. 1 to the back of the seat and 1 on each side of the toon, one for gear and the other for H20 and a snack, you can see an old Orvis fly hook holder that I use for, yes, holding hooks[cool] I used goop and a needle and thread to add on the necessary belting and clips. I had the belt holding them in place but have since attached them only on the outside rail so I can get to my air valves.
I had to add on my motor mount and then adapt it to my motor, so I included those pics.
I use carry my rods on the trailer on a makeshift rod holder, plywood with rod holders, it seems to work well. I still haven't figured out a better apron, by the time I get in the seat and my grand baby belly holder with PFD and fishing vest, there's just not much room without build an addition on to the front of the tube. I use a wire basket with a Styrofoam ring for my catch and when I bring bait I use a foam reversible worm box with a rope with a clip on it so I don't knock it off and lose it[shocked]
Any ways that the toon for now, I love it and if I were to change anything I would like it to be a 9 footer.
Hope to see ya fishin sometime.
