Cousin and I went to Strawberry and hand launched the 14 foot aluminum boat. We fished out next to the ice, in fact, we threw the anchor ON the ice to keep us anchored! Started fishing about 7:45 and quite at 11:00 with 23 fish. All were between 18 and 22 inches except for one 23 incher that I invited home for dinner. The fish are really active right now, and all fought very well. Around 10:00 the bite really slowed down but up until 10 the fish were very active. Usual tactics, jigging. Felt really good to be fishing from the boat again! It was very nice weather wise, with blue skies and sunshine, but I don't think it went upove freezing all morning! I had ice in my pole eyelets even at 11:00 when we quit! As long as the W!@# wasn't blowing it was very comfortable, but everytime the breeze came up it was COLD!
Water temp 39 degrees.
No pics this time, except for one on my camerphone, which I'll try to post at work tomorrow.
