My wife and I went for a sunday drive and wound up at Grantsville reservoir. There were quite a few shore anglers (the place was packed) and it was a little too w@&$y to put the boat in so it really was just a drive.
When I got off work monday the W wasnt too bad so I talked her into another "drive". We got there about an hour before the sun sunk behind beautiful Deseret Peak. There were only 1 other boat 2 tooners a few shore anglers and some goldeneye to share the quiet with. We slow trolled rapallas around the lake with no takers. I noticed a few nice fish rising now and again and was thinking of changing to a fly and bubble when my princess started to get cold. so we started to head in. About 100 yards from the ramp I got our only hit of the nite, a 13" fattie that had already gotten away with someone elses cheese, treble and leader. She put up a good enough fight to earn me a high five from the wife. (Mabie she was high fiving because we were leaving?)
It was such a nice night on the pond my wife said that "It was kinda like a date." Bonus. I still gotta get her to catch one, but I think getting her to go fishing might be more than half the battle!

[cool][#0000ff]Sneaky devil. You might actually pull it off.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I know lots of guys that say getting their wives to go fishing becomes more of a challenge than getting them to get married. Actually, you can be sorry afterward on both counts.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We always have to remember that when we take someone else the trip has to be ABOUT THEM...not us. Plan for comfort and be ready to bail if your invitee gets bored, tired or cold. Then again, if you never want them to go again, just force them to endure.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Sounds like a pleasant interlude. Glad one fish chipped in to provide some entertainment. Too bad you didn't hook into one of those big ol' brownies. Things woulda got noisy if that had happened. Lotsa yellin' and screamin' I bet. You probably woulda scared the heck outta your wife.[/#0000ff]

You are so correct on that TD, but than again what are the motive of taking the other person.

The one I know we all shoot for [Tongue]
Introducing them to the sport we love and wanting to share it with them. Along with sharing the time doing it with them.

OR

We do not really want them to come so we want them to be miserable that way we can spend all out free tackle money on ourselves instead of having to split it. hehe

But I know none of us here on BFT would ever consider #2
