[size 1]Was really bummed. RiverRat and I were goimg to Pelican this week but I woosed out because of the whether. Had a chance of meeting FishSmitty later. Bummer. Soooooo ----- went to Pinevoew Monday and Mantua today. To be honest, I'm glad it turned out this way. Always plan on an annual trip to Pelican but with gas prices, distance and I'm not getting any younger, the local stuff looks better and better, especially if it's good fishun.
Anyway, spent 3 hrs. at Pineview with the Sparkinator and caught 2 - 16 in. smallies and a breakoff of a decent Tiger. Just can't hold the Tigers on 6# mono when they go into brush. Caught them all on my standard reaper. Looks promising as things warm up.
Went to Mantua today with the Sparkinator and caught 15 bass in 6 hrs. Nothing of particular size but I was pleasantly surprised for so early, fun. Caught them all on Maniac's silver/black fleck ice bugs after spliting thier tails.

[cool][#0000ff]Good report Leaky. Too bad about getting "blown out" at Pelican, but you saved the week anyway.[/#0000ff]

What are tigers are you talking about?

[cool][#0000ff]Tiger muskies...a sterile hybrid...cross between a northern pike and a muskie. Beautiful fish and a tough customer.[/#0000ff]

warchild - I see you didn't answer my question on how you did. If ya don't want to post it, how about a pm. ? I'll look for ya on the lake, but look out for the Sparkinator, he might steal your fish.
Just thought I'd blither a little for everyone else - Ya know, I am really blessed (or whatever you can connect with) to be able to have the enjoyment of doing what I do within just a few hours of my home and what's particularily great is I do it without a $10,000+ bass boat. My float tube cost $90. Even better - about 1/3 were caught from the shore!! :-D This is not the only area that you can do this. Big Grin What a rewarding experience of the outdoors and the invironment. Man are we lucky here in Utah or what?
