The lake and dam are the smallest of the three Upper Feather River lakes and dams (Davis, Frenchman, and Antelope), however, Antelope Dam has the longest crest (top of structure). Antelope Lake began storing water a month after completion of the dam to meet the increasing demand for water-oriented recreation and to improve fishing in Indian Creek by assuring a constant, yearlong flow of water below the dam. No reservations are needed for camping, and campsites are closed during the winter.
