Twin Lakes,
Water temp. up to 63 F as water level seems to be falling fast. Big mouth bass and bluegill biting pretty good. Had to use small baits to tip bluegill jigs to keep bite going. I brought a cooler home full of bluegill and one crappy. I used two outfits, one with a naked bluegill jig and small piece of worm and one similar but with clear bobber half filled with water. This gave me both the deep option and the long cast option. I brought numerous ones home approaching 9".
Winder,
Bass and bluegill biting good but smaller fish compared to Twin Lakes.

Thanks for the info. I've been working on my boat since ice out and those ponds have got to be miss'n me.

Howdy,
Were you fishing from the bank????

Thanks for the report. It is good to hear the bluegill at Twin are starting to become more active. I had a difficult time finding them when I fished Twin 10 days ago.

Thanks for the report. I will be heading down that direction on Sat.

IDHunters,
Hi, and nope to the inquiry about bank fishing. I was in a boat at Twin Lakes and float tube at Winder.
By the way, I just got done cleaning them and there were 46 total that I brought home averaging about 8". The largest was 8.9". My cut line for keepers was about 7.5" and I estimate catching about 5 to 1 for a ratio of what I threw back to what I kept (I probably caught well over 200 between the two places). I should also say that other than fishing deeper into the lake than normal, the bluegill at Twin Lakes were in the traditional places (only) and were difficult to locate and tempt to bite. There really isn't much (willow) cover there especially as the level goes down. I was there after the wind started to blow, so it was virtually impossible to sight fish.
Good luck to the rest of you guys. I hope you get there before the Memorial Weekend crowd since they usually cull the bigger ones.
Thanks for thanks.

Thanks for replying about the bank fishing. I need to get my boat running, sure opens up a bunch of water to fish.
My family and I fished Winder on Saturday. We got there just in time for the wind to start blowing, but my 5 year old couldn't keep the bluegill off his line.
He had an absolute blast.
Bobber and worm from the bank. No big ones, but to a 5 year old they're all big.
I also heard a rumor the SMB were picking up in the snake....
